Town and Village of Mamaroneck Police Blotters

27 motor vehicle accidents, one of them including a struck pedestrian, were reported during the week of March 1st through 7th.

The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department investigated the following incidents last week:

Domestic Disputes

- On March 2nd, police responded to a domestic dispute call from a female regarding an assault. The caller reported the unwanted party had left the premise. Subsequently, officers found a temporary order of protection (TOP) on file against the male, and were able to take him into custody and charge him with aggravated criminal contempt in violation of the TOP.

- On March 5th, police responded to a report of an assault. Units on the scene reported the suspect left prior to their arrival. Subsequently, the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department issued a traffic stop that resulted in an arrest of the same suspect for driving under the influence. Upon his release from the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department took him into custody and charged him with menacing in the third degree.

- On March 7th, police responded to a call of physical altercation. The suspect attempted to prevent the victim from calling police, and was arrested for harassment and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

DWI

- On March 7th, at 1:56 a.m., police reported that a driver was obstructing traffic at the intersection of West Boston Post Road and Richbell Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, police arrested the 48-year-old man from Bloomingburg, N.Y., for driving while intoxicated. The driver took the data master test upon arriving at the Police Department and was found to have 0.08 of one percent or more of alcohol in his blood. He was charged with two counts of DWI, and released on $250 bail.

Larceny

- On March 2nd, a Jefferson Avenue resident reported all four wheels from his 2009 Honda were stolen sometime overnight.

- On March 2nd, a Fenimore Road resident also reported two wheels were stolen from the owner's 1997 Ford. The victim believed the crime took place sometime a day or two before the incident was reported.

- On March 2nd, a Heathcote Avenue resident reported a Harley Davidson motorcycle was stolen from the garage sometime during the day.

- On March 4th, police responded to a report of work tools being taken from a locked tool box in a commercial garage at 827 Mamaroneck Ave.

- On March 5th, a Mamaroneck High School student reported an iPod stolen from the gym area.

Suspicious Person

- On March 3rd, the owner of 121 Prospect Ave. called police to say there were intruders sleeping in the property's basement. Two men were found, charged with criminal trespass and taken into custody. Police also found a woman's purse in the basement.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

- On March 5th, there were reports of four separate vehicle accidents in the vicinity of 1030 West Boston Post Rd. The driver of one vehicle that was rear ended by another was taken to the hospital. A second set of cars were also involved in a rear-end collision; the driver was distracted by a previous accident at the scene. In addition, a police vehicle was struck at the scene.

- On March 6th, a vehicle traveling northbound in the vicinity of 660 Mamaroneck Ave. struck a pedestrian emerging from his vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to White Plains Hospital.

In total, police reported:

- 18 arrests

- 19 motor vehicle accidents that required medical assistance

Harassment Report

On March 3rd, police responded to a call regarding two females harassing an employee at the CVS/Pharmacy in the Fernadale Plaza shopping center on Boston Post Road. The incident is still under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Accident

On March 4th, a 35-year-old driver and two passengers were transported to White Plains Hospital for unknown injuries following a vehicle accident. The driver reported she was traveling southbound on Old White Plains Road when at Magnetti Circle she lost control and slid across the northbound lane into the woods and struck a stone wall, causing major vehicle damage.

DWI

On March 5th, a resident of NewRochelle was arrested on Myrtle Boulevard for operating his vehicle under the influence. The 44-year-old male refused to submit to a chemical test; he was subsequently released on $750 bail and is due back in court tomorrow.
