UPDATE: Southbound US 1 Closed in Mamaroneck
The northbound lanes have reopened. An accident investigation could take six hours to complete.
UPDATE—Friday, May 20, 2016, 5:15 p.m.: The state Department of Transportation has updated the road closing in Mamaroneck.
US 1 is closed southbound between Fenimore Road and Richbell Road for about six hours due to an accident investigation.
The northbound lanes of US 1 have reopened.

The suggested detour is southbound Fenimore to Palmer Avenue to Richbell back to US1.

Accident investigation on US 1 has shut down both directions between Fenimore Road and Richbell Road in Mamaroneck.
All four lanes are blocked until further notice, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The accident, which is being described as serious, occurred at 3:35 p.m.
A suggested detour for southbound traffic is at Fenimore Road to Palmer Avenue to Richbell Road and back to US 1.
For northbound traffic, take Richbell Road to Palmer Avenue to Fenimore Road and back to US 1.
Police said the road could be closed for up to six hours due to the investigation.
