Video: Piri-Q Has Landed on Mamaroneck Avenue
The Portuguese restaurant co-owned by chef Rui Correia had its soft opening last week.
Bringing a taste of Portugal to Mamaroneck Avenue, Piri-Q restaurant had a soft opening last week. The owners will be using the summer months to ease into the neighborhood and tie up loose ends. (Their liquor license is still pending and they are waiting for clearance to open up their outdoor back patio for dinning.) But once they get the full green light, co-owner and chef Rui Correia plans on featuring his famous sangrias as a house specialty.
The grand opening is tentatively scheduled for the weekend after Labor Day. The lunch menu features a variety of sandwiches with a derivative of the signature Piri-Q ingredient, a roasted pepper-based sauce with malagueta peppers. Along with the chef's signature chicken on the bone, which is roasted over a wood charcoal fire, Piri-Q will be offering up grilled shrimp with a salsa verde sauce and many other items with a traditional Portuguese flair.
Piri-Q also offers a variety of take out items in addition to the regular menu. Delivery plans are set for a future date, but for now you can stop by to pick up or have car side service.
