Village of Mamaroneck Alerts Residents to Metallic Water Taste

If you taste or smell something funny in your water, call 3-1-1.

The Village of Mamaroneck is notifying residents of a metallic taste and/or smell to their water. The Village announced on their website that they are in contact with the Department of Environmental Protection and believe the smell and taste is caused by the natural growth and biological degradation of algae in the reservoirs.

The Village stated that this is not uncommon and that they have done extensive testing on the waters and found it is safe to drink. They are working on the issue and expect the problem to be fixed within the next week.

If you have a metallic taste in your water, call 3-1-1.
