VOM Police Blotter: Shoplifter Swipes Clothes, a DWI Arrest, and more.

Here are just a few of the cases the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department investigated during the week of July 12-19.

July 12- A Halstead Avenue resident called police to state that she believes that several times in the past someone had stolen her adult diapers. After speaking to her aide, the police believe the caller may be in the beginning stages of dementia.

July 12- A Palmer Avenue resident called police to report that the rear spoiler of his black Acura had been stolen.

July 12- Sometime between 8 a.m. and 4:52 p.m., someone stole all four wheels and tires from a car parked in Station Plaza. Police estimated the stolen parts to be worth over $1,000. The investigation is ongoing.

July 14- A worker at Siren Clothing Store at 224 Mamaroneck Ave. called to report that a shoplifter fled the store at 12:57 p.m. without paying for a dress and a top. The suspect was described as an Asian female with brown hair.

July 14- Police were called to the scene when a large commercial truck struck low hanging wires while backing down East Prospect Avenue. Consolidated Edison responded to the scene.

July 14- A commercial truck hit a parked 1991 Lexus on Center Avenue before fleeing the scene. An eyewitness wrote down the plate number of the truck, and notified police. The identification of the driver was not available at press time, but police said it is an ongoing investigation.

July 16- Police arrested a man driving his red vehicle into the village at 10:25 p.m. with his headlights flashing. Police found the driver had his New York state license privilege revoked. He was arrested and released on $50 bail.

July 17- Reports of an overturned sailboat half a mile off of the Larchmont Shore Club were called into police. Police responded and all occupants of the boat were safe.

July 17- At 9:35 p.m., police arrested a woman for DWI. She was brought to headquarters where she consented to a breathalyzer test that found her blood alcohol to be over the legal limit. She was later released.
