The legal name according to federal law is Washington’s Birthday, which is celebrated on the third Monday of February, according to the National Archives.

But most of us, including mattress stores and local governments, call in Presidents Day, in order to pass around some patriotic loving to all the presidents.

All government offices are closed, and there is no mail service from the United States Postal Service.
