A Levittown man and teenager were arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say fireworks he was illegally storing in his home caused it to burn down.

According to police, officers and fire fighters were called to a home on Blacksmith Road at 4:20 p.m. for a house fire. The Levittown and Wantagh fire departments responded and managed to put out the blaze. No one was injured in the fire.

Police investigated the fire and say they discovered that one of the residents, 29-year-old Simarjit Singh, was storing fireworks. Police say remnants of the fireworks were set off by a 13-year-old boy, which started the fire. The fire caused extensive damage to the house and to a neighbor's home.
