#92 - Welcome Spring with an Ice at Ralph's

Nothing says summer is on its way like the reopening of Ralph's Italian Ices.

Levittown Patch asked its readers what their favorite thing is about spring in Levittown, and many people had the same answer: Ralph's Famous Italian Ices.

This celebrated Italian ice business was started in 1928 by Ralph Silvestro, who immigrated from Italy to New York.

Though it comes from traditional Italian roots, Ralph's goes far beyond your classic lemon, cherry and chocolate Italian ices. In fact, the Levittown location at 301 Wantagh Avenue boasts over 90 flavors.

There are water ices ranging in everything from lemon-lime to strawberry margarita, a wide variety of creme ices with fun flavors such as vanilla fudge brownie and peanut butter cookie dough, as well as no sugar added fat free options and ice cream and milkshake concoctions.

Ralph's has become a neighborhood hot spot for teenagers after school, families looking for an after dinner treat, and locals headed back from a long, hot day at the beach. Sure the weather isn't too warm yet, but it's never too cold for a Ralph's Italian ice.
