American Legion Annual Holiday Food Drive

Food Drive

American Legion Post 1711 located in Levittown New York held their Annual Holiday Food Drive on Saturday November 10th. Members of the Legion, the Sons of the Legion, and the Ladies Auxiliary collected food and other donations at the ShopRite Supermarket at 3901 Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage and the Walmart Neighborhood Market 3335 Hempstead Turnpike In Levittown. The purpose of the food drive is to supply food baskets and turkeys for Veterans and local families in need during the Thanksgiving and Holiday Season. The year the post was able to supply 9 local families with turkeys and all the fixings for a Thanksgiving Dinner!

We will also be supplying food baskets for the Christmas Holiday Season. If anyone knows of a Veteran or family that may benefit from a basket of cheer they should reach out to the Post. We can be reached at 516-731-9114 or post1711@optimum.net. Any submissions will be kept confidential.
