• Students showcase successful summer of music (midislandtimes.com) — Levittown families just got a showcase of local talent as about 50 students from the Levittown Schools Summer Music Program performed ensembles and solos at Wisdom Lane Middle School on August 12. Spanning fourth through 11th grades, the young musicians tackled challenging pieces, some even learning a second instrument, impressing teachers and loved ones with their summer progress.
   

• Man arrested at Levittown deli (midislandtimes.com) — Police say a Levittown man was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance and brandishing a knife outside La Fonda Deli on Division Avenue last Sunday afternoon. Officers report he had previously been banned from the business and now faces burglary, menacing, attempted assault, and child endangerment charges.
   

• MAC Announces Week 1 Women's Soccer Players of the Week (getsomemaction.com) — A Levittown native is turning heads in Division I women's soccer as Buffalo goalkeeper Lexie Thompson earned MAC Goalkeeper of the Week after back-to-back shutouts. The General Douglas MacArthur graduate now ranks among Buffalo's all-time leaders in shutouts and wins, giving Levittown residents another local athlete to cheer for this season.
