Island Trees Lady Dawgs Honored by Nassau County

The Island Trees Lady Dawgs varsity basketball team received the following awards as voted on by the coaches of Nassau County:

Junior captain Maggie Milonakis received the All-Nassau County award. Milonakis averaged 15 points per game, which put her in the top 20 in the county, and she also had 42 three-pointers, placing third in the county.

Nicole Pellegrino and Erin Carey received All-Class. Pellegrino and Carey were the anchors of their team's defense, which coach Andy Schneider said was the strength of the team.

Outstanding eighth grader Brianna Wilson received All-Conference. Wilson was tied for second on the team in both scoring and rebounding and led the team in shooting percentage.

Kaitlyn Interlandi was selected Senior Scholar Athlete, and Andy Schneider was voted Conference 4 Coach of the Year.

The awards banquet is March 29.
