Man Knocks on Sleeping Woman's Door While Burglarizing Long Island Home
The 25-year-old woman told police that someone turned the locked door knob but didn't go into her room Monday afternoon.

LEVITTOWN, NY - A burglar broke into and stole jewelry from a Levittown home on Monday afternoon while a woman slept in an upstairs bedroom, according to Nassau Police.
The 53-year-old homeowner returned to his Constable Lane home at about 12:20 p.m. when he noticed that someone had entered the home by forcing a rear bedroom window open, police said.
A burglar removed assorted jewelry from a jewelry box that was left in a first floor bedroom on a dresser and from a jewelry box inside second floor bedroom, police said.

The man’s 25-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in another second floor locked bedroom, said someone did turn her door knob but did not enter the room, police said.
There were no injuries reported.
