PBS Entertainer to Perform for Levittown Fans

Meredith LeVande will be in town on Monday, Aug. 20.

A popular children's musician described as the "high-energy, bubbly girl" on PBS will be coming to Levittown next week to visit her biggest fans.

Meredith LeVande, the creator of Monkey Monkey Music and other kids music videos on PBS, will be at the Levittown Library on Monday, Aug. 20, 2:30 p.m. to perform for the kids who participated in the summer reading program at the library.

LeVande is the star every kid sees in the music videos that play after Sesame Street, The Cat in the Hat, and other shows end. Her performances are high-energy and interactive with the audience, and they encourage movement by playing air guitars or jumping high.

"We engage children in different ways, to connect with them," LeVande said.

LeVande performed last year at the Levittown Library, but that performance was solo - Monday's will be with her full band.

The music targets kids aged 7 and younger. The type of performances done by the band include "shake it loud," a maraca-based song, "air guitar," the "jump high" song, and a song with bubbles.
