Dozens Of Levittown Seniors Recognized For Academic Achievements

From Levittown Public Schools: Seventy-five of General Douglas MacArthur High School’s top seniors from the Levittown Public Schools were recognized for their exceptional academic accomplishments during the school’s annual Generals Breakfast on Jan. 3. Central and building administrators, board members and members of MacArthur High School’s guidance department were all present for the special event.

Students were invited to the breakfast for achieving a cumulative GPA of 95 or above. Principal Joseph Sheehan welcomed everyone and commended the seniors for their impressive academic achievements and outstanding character. “As I look out over this impressive group of young adults, I’m confident that we can all agree that our future looks very bright and we will be in excellent hands,” he said. “You have proven that hard work, determination and dedication pays off and you have represented General Nation with the traits and characteristics that make us all so proud of you.” The students were welcomed to a delicious buffet style breakfast, served by members of MacArthur High School’s guidance department. Guidance chairperson Elizabeth Hammer spoke about the students’ rigorous coursework, numerous extracurricular activities and noteworthy volunteer work. Each senior was then invited to the podium to share their intended major of study, the colleges they applied to and their favorite high school memory.
