UPDATE: Levittown Woman Charged in Hit-and-Run That Killed Dog
The driver allegedly ran over Peanut, a Yorkie, and kept going.

UPDATE, 8:30 p.m. Oct. 3
Police have arrested Ana Rodriguez, 37, of Barbara Lane in Levittown, in the death of Peanut the dog. Rodriguez has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with an injury to an animal. She is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, Oct. 17 at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police are searching for the driver of a car that ran over and killed a dog in Levittown before fleeing the scene.
According to detectives, a 66-year-old woman was walking her Yorkie, Peanut, with an extender leash northbound on Center Lane in Levittown at about 4 p.m. on Sept. 20, when Peanut wandered into the road and was run over by a car. The driver of a blue Chrysler Pacifica stopped the vehicle for only a moment and then left the scene without rendering aid or identifying themselves.
