East Meadow Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Stabbing Someone In Back During Fight: Police

A man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the back outside a Levittown comedy club Thursday night, police say.

LEVITTOWN, NY — A man is in critical condition Friday morning after a fight outside a Levittown comedy club ended with him being stabbed in the back with a knife, police said.

Nassau County police said they were called to Governors Comedy Club on Division Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. Thursday night, where they found that an argument had broken out between two men, aged 54 and 58. The argument had escalated and spilled into a back alley, where the 54-year-old — East Meadow resident Francis Jimenea — stabbed the 58-year-old, police said.

In the aftermath of the argument, the 58-year-old was hospitalized and is currently listed in critical condition, while Jimenea was arrested and also hospitalized with a laceration, police said.

Jimenea is being charged with second-degree attempted murder following the incident and is scheduled for arraignment Friday, police said.
