The tournament will consist of competitive sparring, board breaking, and forms as well as a Team Demo Competitions. Highlighting this year’s event will be a special showcase between the national level team from New York facing off against international rival Team Mexico.
This exciting sports and cultural event will also feature seminars prior to and during the festival, Korean style food, and Korean Cultural Performances.
This event is recognized by the World TaeKwonDo Federation and sanctioned by the US TaekwonDo Leaders Union. Additionally, the event has received the support of the Nassau County Government with the historic institution of the first ever “Nassau County TaeKwonDo Day” on the tournament date. In keeping with this important theme the New York Open Organizing Committee will be selecting 10 Masters/Instructors for receipt of a special Citation from Nassau County for their outstanding contributions to the success of the tournament.
