Family Time at Long Island Children's Museum

Get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving as a family during the holiday weekend at the Long Island Children's Museum. Families can enjoy the current "Toy: The Inside Story" exhibit, which is on display until January 1st. This interactive display allows children to look inside how toys function while exploring pulleys, cams and gears.

There will also be special events throughout the weekend. Events are as follows:

Friday November 26th

Carousel Spinners at 3pm: This spinner is one of the earliest examples of whirly toys. Fee is $3 with museum admission. Ages 7 and up.

Gizmo Guys- Comedy Jugglers at 1-3pm: The LICM Theatre presents these comedians which entertain through world class juggling. Fee is $4 with museum admission. Ages 3 and up.

Messy Afternoons at 1-3pm: Join the LICM for some fun with shaving cream, goop, and dough. Fee is free with museum admission. Ages 18 months and up.

 

Saturday November 27th

 

Gizmo Guys- Comedy Jugglers at 1-3pm: The LICM Theatre presents these comedians which entertain through world class juggling. Fee is $4 with museum admission. Ages 3 and up.

Messy Afternoons at 3:30-5:30pm: Join the LICM for some fun with shaving cream, goop, and dough. Fee is free with museum admission. Ages 18 months and up.

 

Sunday November 28th

Russian Duo Workshop at 1pm: Learn how to dance with these Russian folk dance artists and pretend to be prancing horses. Fee is $4 with museum admission. Ages 4 and up.

Russian Duo Performace at 3pm: They will be performing on a traditional Russian instrument called the "balalaika." The audience will be invited to join in to sing and laugh together. Fee is $4 with museum admission. Ages 3 and up.

 

The LICM is at 11 Davis Avenue in Garden City on Museum Row.

Admission is $10 for adults and children over 1 year of age and free for those under 1 year of age. Seniors are $9.
