For Levittown Chamber of Commerce Businesses, Veterans Day is Every Day
Member businesses offer discounts to veterans year-round.

When Levittown Chamber of Commerce Past President Ann Torvicia was in charge of the chamber, she wanted to institute a program to give back to veterans on Veterans Day.
"Levittown was built for the veterans by the veterans," she said. "We needed to do something for them."
As she was planning it, however, she decided that one day wasn't enough. "At first, we were going to give a discount for Veterans Day," she said. "But when I started the program, I thought, 'Why should it only be one day? Let's give it every day.'"

Through the chamber-wide program, a veteran can bring an application and a copy of their their discharge papers to any participating business in the chamber. In exchange, they are given a card that grants them access to a host of deals within chamber businesses.
The Levittown Chamber's program spawned a similar program created by Nassau County Clerk Maureen O'Connell, which offers similar discounts throughout the county if veterans present the original copy of their discharge papers. A list of those businesses can be found here.
