Former Levittown Resident, Alice Lafleur, Passes Away at 91
Lafleur and her family moved to Levittown after World War II.

Alice (Kennedy) Lafleur, of Hudson and Acton, Mass., passed away on Sept. 23, 2012, at the age of 91.
Lafleur was born in Bristol, Conn. on May 12, 1921, the daughter of Alice (McKernan) and Raymond Kennedy. She attended schools in Agawam, Mass and graduated from Agawam H.S.
Alice married the love of her life, Vincent A. Lafleur, in 1943. During the war-time years and her husband's military deployment, Alice worked for the Springfield Bank & Trust.
After the war her family moved to Levittown, N.Y. and thereafter to Farmingdale, Maine before finally relocating to Hudson, Mass. in 1964.
While her family and home remained Alice's first and greatest priorities, she also served on the Marlborough Hospital Auxiliary board of directors and joined the Catholic Daughters local affiliate of Christ the King Church in Hudson.
A source of great satisfaction for her was her work with this group's scholarship committee, and the recognition that the scholarships awarded would ease the financial burdens of aspiring young scholars.
Alice also loved and excelled at crafting including her rug braiding, stained glass, professional level cake decorating (including her oldest sons wedding cake), love for flower gardening and cooking.
Alice is survived by her four children: Allan and his wife, Martha of Keene, N.H.; Katherine Dittami and her husband, Alexander, of Hampton Falls, N.H..; Janet Bentley and her husband, Jeffrey, of Westford, Mass; and John and his wife, Stephanie, of Medway, Mass. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and by seven great-grandchildren. Alice is additionally survived by her sister-in-law, Sr. Virginia Lafleur of Dorval Quebec. Her husband, Vincent, died in 1981.
