1. GREEN BEER FOR EVERYONE

Why: What better way to get in the St. Patrick's Day spirit than drinking green beer? Beers are just $3 at this nearby watering hole, and they will be flowing all day long. Wear your best Irish attire.

2. DATE NIGHT

Where/When: Levittown Public Library; Friday, March 18, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Why: Get in a good laugh with a free screening of this popular comedy, starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell, while socializing with other members of your community.

Pricing: Free.

3. . MARCH COMEDY MADNESS

Where/When: Brokerage Comedy Club (2797 Merrick Road, Bellmore); Friday, March 18, 8 p.m.

Why: In honor of the NCAA College Basketball Tournament, 64 comedians go one-on-one in the 5th annual March Comedy Madness Comedy Competition. This is the second round, to be culminated with the Final Four April 1 at Levittown's Governor's Comedy Club.

Pricing: $15 plus two drink minimum per person.

4. NIGHT AT THE THEATER

Where/When: Island Trees High School, Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 at 7 p.m.; MacArthur High School Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 at 8 p.m.

Why: Two local high schools will be performing this weekend, so that's double the chance to check out young talent and get a Broadway experience without the high prices and travel time. Island Trees High School presents "Godspell", while MacArthur presents "All Shook Up".

5. SUNDAY CRAFTS

Where/When: Michaels; Sunday, March 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why: Spend your Sunday afternoon being creative with classes in beading for all types of jewelry. For adults only.
