Help Stamp Out Hunger With Food Drive This Weekend

Leave non-perishable food by your mailbox on Saturday and your letter carrier will do the rest.

Island Harvest, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the United States Postal Service is teaming up once again for the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive on Saturday, May 13. The food drive, now in its 25th year, collects food for the area's largest food pantry to be distributed to those in need.

Getting involved is easy: all you have to do is leave non-perishable food items by your mailbox on May 13 before your mail carrier comes. That's it. They'll take care of the rest.

Items that can be left include canned goods, cereal, pasta, rice, boxed juices and shelf-stable milk. Please don't leave any glass items. All of the food collected will go towards Island Harvest's network of food pantries, soup kitchens and other feeding programs, which help thousands of people across Long Island.
