Island Trees High School Athletics Hall of Fame Accepting Nominations for New Class of Inductees
The Island Trees High School Athletics Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce that they are reconvening this year to decide upon the next class of Hall of Fame inductees.
The focus for the next Hall of Fame induction (Fall, 2018) will be on athletes who graduated from June, 2006 – June, 2012. Athletes and coaches from earlier years can also be nominated if they have not yet been inducted.
Once again, the Island Trees community is invited to submit their nominations for athletes and/or coaches they think deserve consideration for induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame. If you are interested, a nomination form can be can be downloaded at www.islandtrees.org under the “Departments-Athletics” tab.It must be filled out completely and returned to the Athletics Office by January 5, 2018. Nominations received after this date will not be considered.
Here is the criteria to consider when nominating an athlete or coach:
1. An athlete must have played at least 1 Varsity sport at Island Trees High School. Athletic accomplishments at the middle school level will not be considered.
2. An athlete must be graduated from Island Trees High School for at least 5 years. Athletes who graduated from June, 1957 - June, 2012 are eligible for consideration with the focus being on those athletes who graduated between June, 2006, and June, 2012. Athletes who graduated June, 2013, or later are not eligible for this Hall of Fame Class.
3. A coach must be retired from coaching at Island Trees for at least 5 years.
4. Self- nominations will not be accepted.
It is important to note that nominations do not guarantee induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame. All nominations will be given due consideration by members of the Hall of Fame Committee who are ultimately responsible for making final determinations as to who will be inducted.
