On Tuesday, December 3, the Fall Athletics Awards Banquet was held at Kellenberg Memorial High School to honor the varsity athletes 2019 fall season. Awards were given for most committed, most improved, and most valuable athletes on each team.
Sarah Zwart, Most Valuable Player, Girls Varsity Swimming
Sarah Zwart has been integral to every success we have had as a team over the past three years, but this year she really came into her own. Sarah was our fastest swimmer throughout the season, and excelled at champs, earning a 12th place finish in the 50 Free and a 14th place finish in the 100 Free. She also had an amazing 29.00 split for the fly leg of the 200 Medley Relay, helping her team to finish 6th in that event. But what makes Sarah valuable to our team even more than her speed is her amazing personality. When we need her to swim the toughest events, it’s not a problem at all. If we ask her to swim back-to-back events, she does it without a complaint. Her teammate said it best when she said, “Sarah is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She always cheers everyone up.” We are lucky to have her on our team and know that she will continue to excel throughout the rest of her swimming career!
