Each student created their own paper ghost and were challenged to use adjectives to describe themselves in their writing. Readers had to guess who was hiding under each ghost sheet based on the describing words that each writer used. The lesson was a fantastic way to introduce paragraph writing, while also teaching students to be as descriptive as possible to make their writing more interesting.

The Halloween-theme carried into the class's math lesson as well. Students created candy corn arrays to reinforce the different strategies of multiplication that they have learned. For example, creating an array or a number line. Students had a great time learning through these two Halloween-inspired lessons.
