Levittown School District Continues Division Avenue Cafeteria Process

The district agreed to transfer $2 million from capital funds to keep the project on track.

The project to renovate the Division Avenue High School cafeteria remains on track for completion after the district agreed to transfer money from its capital fund last Wednesday.

The district agreed to transfer $2 million from its capital fund for the project at a special meeting before the February 29 budget planning session. The decision keeps the project on track for its planned completion date. That date was estimated to be Aug. 12 by Assistant Superintendent of Business and Finance Mark Flower at a board meeting on Jan. 11.

The need for renovation of the cafeteria was first brought to the board's attention in September of 2010. Renovating Division's cafeteria was made a priority in November of that year.
