Levittown Seniors Honored For Top Scores On PSAT/NMSQT

LEVITTOWN, NY — Two seniors in Levittown Public Schools have been recognized for earning top scores on the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Sage Diaz and Hailey Yuan Li of General Douglas MacArthur High School were recently recognized by the College Board's National Hispanic Recognition Program for their exceptional scores, the district said.
The program honors about 7,000 Hispanic/Latino students who take the test each year. While not a scholarship award, earning a spot in the program is considered a significant academic achievement that can help students get into elite colleges and qualify for prestigious scholarships.

To be eligible for recognition, juniors must identify as at least 25 percent Hispanic/Latino on the PSAT/NMSQT. They must also achieve the minimum required PSAT/NMSQT Selection Index score — which varies by location — and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher by the middle of their junior year.
The district congratulated both students on their achievement.
