In addition to its swim meets, the Levittown Swimming Association also helps local charities. At its annual Swim-a-Thon, the organization raised $3,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island and the YES Community Counseling Center, which is opening up in the former YOM building on Center Lane in Levittown.
Over a dozen of LSA’s seasoned swimmers finished their summer careers this year as they “aged out.” The organization marked this occasion by presenting them with a plaque and a large framed photograph of them mid-stroke.
While the swimmers return to school and their fall activities, the Levittown Swimming Association begins preparing for the 2013 season.
