Local Businesses Offer Deals on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday

For some, the day after Thanksgiving is all about laying low and digesting, but for shoppers everywhere, it is one of the busiest days of the year.

Known in the shopping world as "Black Friday," the day marks the start of the holiday spending season and traditionally offers special sales and promotions that attract flocks of bargain hunters.

This year, for the first time ever, American Express is promoting Small Business Saturday. This Saturday, Nov. 27, American Express is giving registered card members a $25 statement credit when they shop at small businesses. The idea is to encourage consumers to put money into small, local businesses to help jump-start the economy.

This Friday, Nov. 26 and Saturday, Nov. 27, some Levittown businesses are offering special deals. Whether it's bowling, grabbing a slice of pizza or booking your winter vacation getaway, do it locally this weekend and save.

South Levittown Lanes: On Friday, the bowling alley, located at 56 Tanners Lane, is offering three specials.

It will be $10 to rent a lane from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a $5 cover for $1 games from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and two hours of "Bowl Your Brains Out" unlimited bowling for $11.99 per person from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.      

On Saturday, it will again be $10 to rent a lane from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., but ladies will bowl free with a paid male bowler from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. 

North Levittown Lanes: Levittown's other bowling alley, located at 100 Schoolhouse Road, is also offering special deals on both Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, pay a $5 cover for $1 games from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. or participate in two hours of unlimited "Bowl Your Brains Out" fun for $11.99 per person from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

On Saturday, ladies bowl free from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a paid male bowler.

Calda Pizzeria: This casual Italian eatery, located at 2890 Hempstead Tpke., is offering 15 percent off all dine-in checks all day on Black Friday.

CATZ of Levittown: This athletic training center, located at 148 Gardiners Ave., is offering a one-day only, Black Friday special of a 20 percent discount off all three of their training program memberships. This includes adult fitness, youth fitness and performance training for amateur athletes.

Anyone who purchases their membership or package on Black Friday and mentions that they saw it listed on Levittown Patch can take advantage of this significant discount, said Managing Partner Adam Zeitsiff.
