MacArthur Honors Its Top Seniors

From Levittown Public Schools: Seventy-two of General Douglas MacArthur High School’s top seniors were recognized for their exceptional academic accomplishments during the school’s annual Generals Breakfast on Jan. 4.

The Levittown Public School’s central administration along with board members, MacArthur administrators and guidance department were all present for the special event.Students included those that had a cumulative GPA ranging from 95 to 104. Principal Joseph Sheehan welcomed everyone to the special breakfast and praised the students for their high academic accomplishments throughout their high school careers. “I would like to acknowledge all of these fantastic young adults for their exceptional character, their commitment to excelling not only in the classroom but also in their extracurricular activities and their involvement in community events,” he said. “Congratulations on your achievements, you have proven that hard work, determination, and dedication pays off and you have represented MacArthur High School with the necessary traits and characteristics that makes us all so proud of you.” The students were then welcomed to a delicious buffet style breakfast, served by the school’s guidance department. After everyone was seated again, guidance counselor Stacy Phillips spoke about the students’ rigorous coursework, numerous extracurricular activities and noteworthy volunteer work. Each senior was then invited to the podium to share their intended major, the colleges they applied to and their favorite high school memory.
