NICE Bus Running On Hourly Schedule Monday
The bus resumes service Monday after it was cut off Sunday at 3 p.m.
NASSAU COUNTY, NY. — The Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) Bus resumed service Monday on an hourly schedule, reviving bus service that was shut down Sunday afternoon amid a winter storm that left over a foot of snow in parts of Nassau County.
Monday morning, the bus provider encouraged riders to use the NICE “Go Mobile App” to stay up-to-date on the arrival and status of their specific bus. Updates to service on specific lines, the provider said, would be uploaded to the NICE website as well.
“Due to Sunday’s snowfall, residual snow and ice conditions are expected to impact service during Monday and Tuesday. Riders should plan for the possibility of major delays and potential detours across the system when we are able to restore service,” the webpage reads. “We encourage customers to allow extra travel time and stay informed by checking our website, social media channels, and mobile app for the latest service updates.”

NICE had previously said it would be assessing road conditions overnight into Monday morning to determine when service could resume. Monday morning, the announcement came that service would resume with hourly buses.
"Even when service is resumed, passengers should expect delays and detours especially on the North Shore for Monday’s morning commute," the bus provider said in a statement Sunday.
