One Severely Injured In Nassau Motorcycle Crash

BREAKING: The driver was uninjured, but the passenger suffered severe head trauma.

A motorcycle crash near the Meadowbrook Parkway Sunday afternoon severely injured a Levittown woman.

According to police, a three-wheeled motorcycle being driven by Peter Mangus, 64, of Levittown, was traveling west on Bay Parkway at 12:09 p.m., about to merge onto the Meadowbrook State Parkway, when Mangus lost control. The motorcycle crossed the dividing island, ejecting the passenger -- Sherri Mangus, 56, also of Levittown.

Police say Sherri lost her helmet during the crash and was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for serious head trauma. Mangus was uninjured in the crash.
