Plainedge falls 12-5 at the hands of Division Dragons Varsity

Plainedge had a tough outing on Tuesday, as Division Dragons Varsity dominated in a 12-5 win in seven innings at Division Ave. HS.

Division Dragons Varsity scored five runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Joseph Spitalere, a two-run double by Anthony Papa, a sacrifice fly by Chris Reilly, and a solo home run by Mark Martinez.

Joseph Spitalere and Anthony Papa racked up three RBIs each on the day. Spitaliere had two doubles and 3 runs scored for Division.

Even though Papa allowed five runs over 6 1/3 innings he still recorded the victory with the big Division bats to back him up. He struck out seven and walked 3.

Plainedge jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Plainedge got things going with a leadoff single. Two more singles plated the first run. 2 more runs came home for Plainedge on an RBI single and a fielder's choice.

Division Dragons Varsity never trailed after scoring four runs in the fifth on two doubles and an RBI single by Reilly.

Division will face Plainedge again tomorrow at Plainedge.
