Prom Dress Boutique Returns To Levittown Education Center
The boutique connects social workers and donated dresses with high school students in search of the perfect prom outfit.

LEVITTOWN, NY. — As prom season fast approaches, Levittown students had the chance to find a formal dress that didn’t break the bank Mar. 12, as the annual Dress Boutique returned to the memorial Education Center.
Open to juniors and seniors, the boutique offered free outfits to students in the market for something formal to wear. It’s a welcome option for parents and students alike, given recent economic trends: CNBC reported that the price of dresses was up 20 percent between 2024 and 2025, while accessories increased in price by 11 percent over the same time frame.
When students and parents showed up Thursday, social workers from middle and high schools in Levittown had sourced donations from local dress shops that included dresses and accessories, filling the education center’s Panther Room with dresses from across the fashion spectrum.

While it gave attendees ample opportunity to get their hands on a gown, the people involved with the dress boutique said it was about even more.
“The Dress Boutique is about much more than finding the perfect dress,” social worker Lisa Dimitri said. “It’s about ensuring every student feels confident, celebrated and stress-free during an important milestone in their high school experience.”
