Question of the Day: How to Deal with Owed School Lunch Money
Sound off on the daily hot topic.

At Wednesday night's Levittown Board of Education meeting, it was revealed that the district is owed $12,821 in school lunch money from students who have not paid for what they have eaten.
What do you think is the best way to handle this situation? While some students may have monetary issues at home, some just forget or don't care to bring money, and some parents are not even aware of what their children owe.
What do you think would be the quickest and most effective way to notify parents, and how should children be penalized if they don't pay? Should they take away privileges like attending school ceremonies and participating in extra-curriculars as was discussed at the meeting? Should these kids not be allowed to get any more cafeteria food on credit? Can you think of another solution? Comment and let us know.
