Police say a 54-year-old man attempted to hit four people with a Subaru after the quartet punched, kicked and took a wallet off of him.

LEVITTOWN, NY. — Five people were arrested Sunday morning after a verbal altercation turned physical, resulting in the theft of a wallet and the crashing of a car, police said.

Nassau County police said that officers had responded to a disturbance call at a Barnyard Lane residence at 9:40 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, police said they determined that 54-year-old Levittown resident Michael Nero had been in a verbal altercation with 39-year-old Elmont resident Matias Marquez before the altercation escalated and turned physical. When it became physical, police said 49-year-old Pablo Munoz Rivera, 51-year-old Jennifer Marrero and 38-year-old John Stansbury, all New Jersey residents, got involved, kicking and punching Marquez.

Police said the other parties in the altercation took Marquez’s wallet during the incident, and that a 38-year-old woman was struck by Marrero with a black metal object. After being struck by Marrero, police said the 38-year-old woman was pushed, shoved and threatened by Nero. She was left with redness and swelling on her left arm, police said.
