Summer is here in full swing now, weather cooperating, water is warming, and the shops, restaurants, and watering holes are all working at capacity……I must warn you visitors, reservations are a good idea at most restaurants now, don’t be disappointed when you’re hungry!
This weekend, just before the July 4th, will be like most other weekends, lots to do but nothing very special. Next weekend will be full of special events and fireworks displays, the smart folks will be out this weekend to avoid the crowds!
First up this weekend is my favorite Farmers Market in Greenport. Located in the parking lot of the Methodist Church on First Street this is a great place to start your weekend. The guys from The Long Island Coffee shop and the sweets from the Blue Duck Bakery will hold you over as you rummage through some of the interesting booths showcasing local vegetable and fruits along with local specialties. They start at 8 AM, but you can get there any time before 2PM. http://northforker.com/event/greenport-farmers-market-2/2014-06-28/

After you leave there try out Sang Lee Farms, 25180 Cty Rd 48, Peconic, another organic farm that services the best restaurants locally and in New York City. Savor the tastes of the farm and join Karen Lee the owner as she explains the organic growing methods and challenges they face. Enjoy an amazing tasting of delicious vegetables from her kitchen. Reservations preferred, www.sangleefarms.com, Saturday 11:00-12:30. Sang Lee farms
At the wineries this weekend I have 2 good opportunities to consider. Diliberto Winery at 250 Manor Lane in Jamesport was recommended last week for its’ new Chardonnay Release Party, this week for their events. During the day they are featuring a free Art’s and Crafts Fair on the premise beginning at noon, and then a great musical event in the evening starting at 7 PM, Opera Under the Stars, featuring light Opera and a little Jazz. Tickets for the event are $20 and light food and refreshments will be available. www.dilibertowinery.com

You need to eat too, so this weekend I am recommending Claudio’s Clam Bar on the Warf in Greenport for lunch and Touch of Venice in Cutchogue for dinner.
Claudio’s Clam Bar is located out on the wharf and offers great seafood fare for lunch and the best of views, Greenport Harbor. http://www.claudios.com/claudios-clambar/
Touch of Venice is a full service northern Italian restaurant on Main Street in Cutchogue. Since 1988 the Pennacchia family has been serving the best of northern Italian fare on the North Fork and was recently re-born at a new location on Main Road. Located at 28350 Main Rd, Cutchogue, reservations HIGHLY recommended. http://www.touchofvenice.com
Well that’s it for this weekend’s recommendations. Not sure Real estate fits in here but if it does please get in touch with me and I promise an excellent experience.
