Traffic Stop Leads To Weapons, Drug Arrests In Nassau
Police say they recovered hundreds of pills and THC cartridges after a traffic stop in Levittown earlier this week.

A traffic stop in Levittown led Nassau police to hundreds of pills, a loaded gun and other drugs earlier this week.
According to police, officers saw a 2014 Honda that failed to stop at a stop sign on Polaris Drive just before 8:15 p.m. on Monday. The officers pulled the car over and police say they found a loaded .38 handgun and about a half pound of marijuana in the car. Police say that two of the people in the car confessed to possession and admitted that more drugs and weapons were located at a home and a storage facility.
Police searched the Jester Lane home of Jordan Tonis in Levittown, as well as a storage locker located at 4040 Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage, and say they found found 298 Xanax pills, 254 individually packaged e-cigarette cartridges containing concentrated THC, $1,67o in cash, a large digital scale, a counting machine and a vacuum sealing machine.

Tonis, 21, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree assault, criminal possession of marijuana, violating a Nassau County Stay Away Order and five counts of criminal contempt. He was arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Additionally, David Niem, 19, of Constellation Road, Levittown, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a firearm and menacing. Police say he will be arraigned as soon as medically practical.
