State Police have released details on a horrific crash on Long Island Tuesday night.

East Meadow, NY - State Police have released details on a crash on the Wantagh State Parkway Tuesday night that left two people dead and a 3-year-old girl in critical condition.

Reina Olivera, 33, of West Babylon, and Nicholas Ramirez, of Lindenhurst, were killed in the crash, which occurred around 11 p.m. in East Meadow, police said.

According to police, Olivera was driving a Nissan Murano south on the Wantagh State Parkway between Hempstead Turnpike and the Southern State Parkway in the left lane when she rear-ended a Honda CRV driven by 50-year-old Ana Ramirez, of Lindenhurst.

Both vehicles came to rest in the left lane, and Nicolas Ramirez, a passenger in the Honda, and Olivera, who was holding a 3-year-old girl, exited their vehicles and were standing in the left lane, apparently exchanging information, police said.

A 42-year-old Wantagh man, Michael Martino, was driving a Toyota Corolla south on the parkway when he began to slow down as he approached the accident scene. The Toyota was then struck by a Honda Accord being driven by 20-year-old Marbin Velasquez, of Baldwin. The impact caused the Honda to strike Reina Olivera, the 3-year-old girl, and Nicholas Ramirez, police said.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed, police said. The accident investigation is ongoing.
