Victims Identified From Fiery Weekend Crash In Hempstead: Police

LEVITTOWN, NY — Police have identified the victims of a fiery weekend crash in Hempstead.

Driver Anthony Diomede, 34 of Levittown, and passenger James Ryder, 25, of Farmingdale, were killed, Nassau police announced on Tuesday afternoon.

On Friday night, Diomede was driving a 2005 Chrysler eastbound on Fulton Avenue when the car collided with a 2021 Genesis, police said.

As the Chrysler fled, three other vehicles were struck after failing to stop at a red light, police said.

The collision caused the car to catch fire and become fully engulfed in flames.

Diomede and Ryder were pronounced at the scene.

Four victims (ages 6, 8, 23 and 44) of one of the vehicle crashes were treated at a nearby hospital, authorities said.

Police are investigating.
