VIDEO: Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers Display Train Models
The model displayed was the culmination of eleven years' of work.
The Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers showed their model train layout to Levittown residents at their location in the basement of 2953 Hempstead Turnpike (below Cue Nine) as part of their fall open house from October 21-23.
The Operating Engineers have been in existence since 1983, but they've operated out of their current location since 2000. They began planning their layout after moving into the building and began constructing it nine years ago. This is the third or fourth year they've held open houses for the public, according to past president John Brendle.
If you missed the display this weekend, the model will be on display again from December 2-4 and December 9-11 at the same location.
