WEEKLY RECAP: Levittown Remembers 9/11, Building Demolished and Division Student Honored

This week, the top stories are:

3) Levittown Ford Building Demolished: A small building owned by Levittown Ford, which used to be a fast food restaurant, was demolished on Tuesday, Sept. 4. The building, located to the right of the Levittown Ford on Hempstead Turnpike, across the street from Starbucks, had been vacant for quite some time.

2) Levittown BOE Honors Division Sophomore: Bailey Gribben, who is battling NeuroFibromatosis, has raised more than $25,000 for the Children's Tumor Foundation. Division Avenue High School Principal Dr. Francesco Ianni and the Levittown Board of Education honored him at this week's meeting.

1) Levittown Remembers the 11th Anniversary of 9/11 - Patch visited the Island Trees Fallen Heroes memorial, which was donated by the IT Football Alumni Association and commemorates alumni of Island Trees who died on 9/11 or in the line of duty. We also posted pictures and a speech from the Levittown Fire Department's 9/11 memorial for Chief Ronald T. Kerwin, who died while saving lives at the World Trade Center on September 11.
