Where to Get Pumpkins

This week, Levittown Patch searched for local pumpkin patches. We found everything including places that have fields of pumpkins, as well as side attractions such as farm animals, corn mazes and much more fall fun. Hicks Nurseries

Description: Pick up some pumpkins while enjoying one of Hicks many fall themed events throughout the month of October. Besides the pumpkin picking, they offer everything from a 3D pumpkin carving demonstration, pumpkin contest and painting workshop. Check their calendar for events each weekend.

Crossroads Farm at Grossman’s
Location: 480 Hempstead Avenue, Malverne
Description: This local spot stocks a small amount of pumpkins just in time for autumn. While getting those pumpkins, check out the organic produce and products also available at this Nassau Land Trust farm. The farm will be harvesting their own gourds soon.

Dees Nursery & Florist

Description: Get into the autumnal spirit while grabbing some pumpkins at Dees' fall festival, which takes place every Saturday and Sunday in October. They have pony rides, live animals, bounce rides, face painting and, of course, plenty of pumpkins! Pick up some beautiful mums while at Dees – the perfect match for beautiful fall themed decorations.

White Post Animal Farm

Description: White Post has their very own field full of pumpkins. A traditional spot for many in the area to head for pumpkin picking, guests can also take advantage of the free hayrides when they pay admission. As part of their fall festival, there will be magicians, a pig show, games, crafts, live farm animals, pony rides and more for visitors to enjoy.

Description: Looking for a spooky experience with your pumpkin patch this year? Schmitt’s offers up their infamous haunted house and corn maze – something that will be sure to spook everyone in your party! The corn maze is also open during the day for pumpkin pickers to enjoy.
