2 Pedestrians Struck, 1 Killed, After Being Struck By Car, Bus In Suffolk: Police
The deadly crash took place Friday night, police say.
AMITYVILLE, NY — A pedestrian was killed and another, injured, in an Amityville crash involving a Suffolk County Transit bus Saturday night, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at the intersection of Broadway and Oak Street at about 8:10 p.m.
Pablo Serrano, 61, of Woodside, Queens, and Claralee Correa, 45, of Brooklyn, were traveling from the northwest corner to the northeast corner of the intersection of Broadway and Oak Street on foot in a posted crosswalk, when they were struck by an eastbound 2003 Mercury Mountaineer that was turning left onto Broadway from Oak Street, police said.

The two pedestrians were then struck by an eastbound 2010 Orion Bus, which was also turning left onto Broadway behind the Mercury, police said.
Serrano was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Correa was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said..
Neither the driver of the Mercury, a woman, 76, of Massapequa, nor the driver of the bus, a man, 58, of Port Washington, were injured, police said.
The Mercury was impounded for a safety check; the bus was examined by the Motor Carrier Unit and
released to the Transit Authority, police said. No charges were filed, police said.
