Motorcyclist Critically Injured In LI Crash
Two people were injured Friday evening after a motorcycle crashed into a car, police say.
NORTH LINDENHURST, NY —Two people were injured, one critically, after a motorcycle crashed into a car in North Lindenhurst on Friday evening, police said.
Ruben Velez, Jr., 57, was driving a 2018 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Straight Path at 5:09 p.m. when his vehicle collided with a westbound 2009 Honda CRV, police said. Velez, of West Babylon, was ejected from the motorcycle, police said.
Velez was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of critical injuries, police said. The driver of the Honda, Luis Molina, 46, of Wyandanch, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

No charges were filed, police said.
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
