LONG ISLAND, NY - The 2018 midterm elections are quickly approaching and New York voters have several important decisions to make

Long Island residents will get a chance to vote for the representative of New York's Second Congressional District this Election Day.

Here's what you need to know before heading out to the polls this November:

Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 6

Polling Times: Polls will open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Peter King — incumbent (R)
• Liuba Grechen Shirley — (D)

District: The Second Congressional District of New York includes portions of Nassau and Suffolk Counties and includes the Townships of Hempstead, Oyster Bay, Babylon and Islip.
