5-Year-Old To Host Lemonade Stand To Raise Money For Charity

For the second year in a row, the local little boy is looking to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

LINDENHURST, NY - A local 5-year-old will once again be hosting a lemonade stand in Lindenhurst to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Last year, Jayden Magliaro started the lemonade stand and raised about $700 for the organization. This year he hopes to top it.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 20 at 69 E. Seacrest Avenue starting at about 10:30 a.m.

He will be selling lemonade, iced tea, bottled water and lots of baked goodies.

Jayden decided to start raising money for the organization last year after got a chance to meet several Wounded Warriors that were staying at the Marriott in Farmingdale where his father, Louis Magliaro, works on occasion.

"The kid would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it," his mother, Donna Magliaro told Patch. "He has a big heart and he knows he's raising money to help people who got hurt."

Donna says her son is so generous, he has even offered her money from his own piggy bank.

"We hope it sparks other kids to want to do things like this it's a positive thing to see kids want to get involved," she said.

She is also hoping the spread the word so people come and visit even if they don't buy anything.

"Come out and support a kid and his cause," Donna said. "He just loves when people come by. Last year he got a little discouraged when it got quiet and then more people stopped by and he perked right up."
