LINDENHURST, NY — A 63-year-old woman was seriously injured after her 8-year-old grandson started her parked vehicle and it rolled down a Lindenhurst driveway Monday morning, Suffolk police said.

The child entered Gina Bente’s 2016 Honda, which was parked in a driveway on Wellwood Ave., and pushed the vehicle’s start button at about 10 a.m., police said.

Bente noticed the Honda moving down the driveway and attempted to enter it to stop it, according to police. The driver’s-side door struck her, causing her to fall and hit her head on the pavement, police said.
