A Visit from Farmer Brian

Students at Daniel Street and William Rall elementary schools honored Earth Day by planting seeds for their school gardens. 

The students were visited by Farmer Brian of Westchester, who shared information about seeding including the parts of a seed, a plant and the germination process.

Students enjoyed getting their hands dirty as they planted beans, corn and peas. The students will have the opportunity to harvest the vegetables they planted in their community gardens and will enjoy the fruits of their labor.
