This past weekend, the heart of Lindenhurst showed up for the 7th Annual True Colors Run, sponsored by HYL Conte Law, PLLC.
The event brought together exactly what community is supposed to look like: students, families, local businesses, elected officials, and service organizations running side by side in unity. Organizations set up tables to share opportunities for community service and resources, thank you to Kids Need MoRE, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Zwanger Pesiri Radiology, New York Life, HUGS, Inc., Legislator RJ Renna, Suffolk County Office of Multi-Cultural Affairs, The Police Explorers and Outback Steakhouse. The members of the Lindenhurst Rotary Club didn’t just show their support, they laced up their sneakers and led by example, demonstrating through action what it truly means to care for one another. Harry from Get your Groove on DJ gave the gift of music to the day.
Joining the community on the course were Suffolk County Legislator Jason Richberg, Assemblyman Kwani B. O’Pharrow, Mayor Mike LaVorata, and Trustee Doug Madlon, a reminder that when government, residents, and organizations move in the same direction, real change follows.
Resources like time and money are never easy to give, but our sponsors and participants know that bringing families together to prevent addiction and promote health and wellness is always worth it.
To everyone who came out to show their True Colors, thank you. As Lindy Cares has always believed: there are no limits to what we can accomplish together.
Thank you to the Color Run Sponsors! Be sure to visit the people and businesses who care for the communities they serve!
